CCA FAQs!
Q: Why do some kids have more than 3 images?
Great question! Some kids may have more than 3 images for a couple of reasons:
-
They wore glasses, and I wanted to provide both “with glasses” and “without glasses” options.
-
I couldn’t decide which photo was "better", so I included both for parents to choose from.
I know that what I think is your child’s best smile may not be what you think is their best smile - so I like to give options!

Q: I only want to buy one image. Why did you take 3?
My business is built around generosity and the perspective of being a fellow mom. What looks like “the perfect smile” to me may not be the same to you - so I give options. Also, let’s be real: with 500+ students, decision fatigue is real! Sometimes it’s easier to include one extra than to delete one that could have been your favorite.
That said, the price is the same whether you purchase 1 digital image or all of your child’s images. Even if I offered only one image next year, the cost would remain the same.
Q: My child/I don’t like all 3 images.
I understand! When photographing students, I told them that my goal was simply this: that you’d like at least one of the images. That’s the heart behind providing multiple options.
Q: Are you paid by the school?
Good question! No, I am not. I’m not compensated by the school at all from yearbook photos. My only income comes from the sales of images. That helps cover the many hours of photographing and 24+ hours of editing that go into creating these galleries for CCA.
Q: Why didn't my child smile??
Yall. I TRY! I even have a fart gun and a squeaky chicken. If your child did not smile, it was certainly not from a lack of trying. Talk to your kiddo! Ha.
Q: When will prints be delivered to the school?
I place a group print order after the ordering deadline. Prints are then delivered to the school in a cardboard envelope, handed directly to your student.
Q: When will digital images be emailed?
You’ll receive your child’s full set of digital images (color + black & white) via email within 48 hours of your payment.
Q: Can I order digital and prints?
YES! You can do both. Many families like to have digitals for long-term use and prints for gifts.
Q: Why is the website for ordering more complicated?
I know the directions might feel long (and maybe a little frustrating), but this setup is intentional -it helps keep costs down for families.
The #1 complaint I heard about previous photographers was the high shipping costs and lack of family discounts. My website allows me to combine orders for CCA families with multiple students, so you save money.
Q: How did you come up with the pricing?
Each image is carefully edited by me -at least three times between Lightroom and Photoshop. I’m a portrait-style photographer, so I strive to deliver what I’d want of my own kids: a variety of poses, crops, and expressions (depending on what the kids will give me!).
Also, the school does not pay me to be the photographer—your purchases are what make this possible.
Q: Can you crop an image for me?
Totally! Cropping in is easy. I can’t “uncrop” what wasn’t captured, but I usually leave a little extra room for flexibility later. Just email me at christie@christiegare.com.
Q: You gave 3-4 images per student. Which one will yearbook use?
I’m not involved in yearbook beyond providing the portraits. The yearbook team chooses which photo they use.
